Migration 2015 Chardonnay Running Creek Vineyard Russian River Valley ($55) From the beautiful Migration estate property off River Road in Sonoma County, this complex wine features lovely floral aromas with nuances of nutmeg and sandalwood, leading to persistent flavors of ripe peach, crisp apple, lemon custard, coconut, roasted almond, and vibrant acidity. Pairings: brie, crab cakes, roasted cauliflower, seared scallops, grilled chicken with tangy aioli. Goldeneye 2014 Pinot Noir Gohan Creek Vineyard Anderson Valley ($82) Classy vineyard designate from the heart of the charming Anderson Valley, with attractive scents of ripe, red fruits, earth and spice; lively flavors of ripe plum, wild strawberry, red apple skin, cinnamon, black trumpet mushrooms and forest floor; silky tannins and plenty of structure. Pairings: medium cheeses, mushroom soup, fresh salmon, roasted chicken with wild herbs, grilled pork chops. Canvasback 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Red Mountain, Washington State ($40) Named after the colorful Canvasback duck species native to the Pacific Northwest; this dynamic wine is filled with deep, dark and powerful fruit flavors softened with smooth tannins, plush texture, and accented with notes of mineral, chocolate, and roasted walnuts.
